Gary Lawson Soccer was created to bring together the many families and youth soccer players that Gary has coached for several years. We dont claim to be an "Academy", we dont want to be. Simply put, Gary is a highly-qualified, independent soccer coach, with a strong pedagogical belief on how soccer should be taught and experienced. He is a passionate physical educator deeply invested in the development of his soccer players.

testimonials

I have known Gary since 2005 when we hired him to train our girls club soccer team, a position that he filled for 2½ years before returning to England for schooling. Gary is the most energetic and complete trainer that I worked with. While he always came into a season (and each game) with a well thought out game plan, it is his uncanny skill to adjust to each player's ability and the situation presented that makes him so valuable. Through the years I have watched him develop from a trainer who works on soccer skills to a professional that not only trains the athlete in individual and team skills but encompasses the individuals mental and physical preparedness. He is demanding of the athletes he trains yet is understanding of their personal limitations. I wholeheartedly endorse Gary Lawson for any team or individual who is serious about taking their game to the next level and beyond.

Gary has always impressed me with his passion for educating children about the sport of soccer. Gary works equally well when coaching children of varying abilities. His determination to develop players of any level is demonstrated through his meticulous planning of coaching sessions, energetic implementation of these sessions and thorough feedback to ensure transfer of his knowledge into the individuals game. I have known Gary in a coaching capacity since 2005 and he is an ideal soccer educator for any youth player looking to improve their game.

“After working with Gary as the Varsity soccer coach at school, our daughter began to train with him individually through the off-season to maintain her fitness and to continue to build her skills. His knowledge of the mechanics of player form, strategy on the field and the most nuanced aspects of the game - coupled with effective team skill building on the field - are tremendous. His breadth of knowledge about physical education includes nutrition and physiology as well as the psychological skills she needs to find excellence as a young athlete –this crucial combination of skill building has helped her develop into a more confident competitor. It’s been ideal to work with a trainer like Gary, who understands kids’ sensibilities and capabilities at a wide range of ages, and who is patient, articulate and completely supportive of their development as whole athletes. The training environment that Gary fosters is helping my daughter define and meet her goal of  'personal best' .”
